Google+ Accessibility You may have noticed that I regularly call out the number of "accessibility issues addressed" in our releases. Accessibility plays a big role in our ongoing efforts and in the new Google+, we've optimized user interfaces on Android, iOS, and the Web for easier navigation with screen readers and keyboard controls. In the past year alone, we've found & fixed over 450 accessibility bugs. Plus Ones Restored Today some of you may notice a jump in +1s on your older posts. We had an issue earlier that resulted in some +1s not being displayed correctly. As of today, that's fully resolved and all your posts should show the right number of +1s. Thanks to everyone who brought this to our attention and apologies for any problems~

G+ Android Update 7.0.0 We're starting to roll out an updated Google+ Android app over the next couple days. This version includes two of our most requested Android fixes and a number of additional updates. Specifically: * 69 bugs fixed * 14 accessibility issues addressed * Automatically hide the bottom tab bar when scrolling (note: not on Notifications screen yet) * The home stream now remembers your position when you return to it (after going to a different screen like Notifications) * Search now displays autocomplete suggestions as you type * If you have no Collections or Communities visible on your profile, we include a prompt for you to add one As always, additional Android updates are on the way, so please keep the ideas & issues coming by using our Send Feedback menu item. How to restore comments flagged as spam by Google+ My biggest complaint about the Google+ redesign is that the automated spam filter often falsely flags perfectly good comments as spam, and doesn't let you restore them. Some have suggested that the fix is to use the old system and not the new. But it occurred to me today that you can use the new redesigned version nearly full-time, but dip into the old design just to restore falsely flagged comments. Just use the the "Notifications" stream: https://plus.google.com/notifications For some reason, Google throws you back into the old version for Notifications. There, you can find the falsely flagged comments and restore them.

Updated: Ruling Social Media with Friends+Me Friends+Me is my favorite tool for managing a multi network strategy, in part because it doesn't require me to Post manually to multiple networks. I post once, to Google+, then with at most a minute or two of optimizing, I've got a queue of Posts ready to go out to all my largest networks. While there are many great tools for scheduling Posts to multiple social networks, none in my opinion is as clever, as powerful, or as easy as Friends+Me​​. It helps me spend less of my time sharing to social media, and more time using social media, and has changed how I use social media by not making me radically change how I prefer to use social media. And now, it's even more powerful, with a new feature to automatically pull in a hashtag from the Original Post to share to Twitter. So now, you can place your hashtag anywhere in the Post and have it automatically appended to your Tweet, by enabling this new feature. (This also goes to show

The Friends+Me  secret is out! See it here: https://goo.gl/N72ecV It is "based" in Google+, but I also find it especially useful to post in FB, to which I loath going. Also, I can schedule the FB posts so they're most likely to be seen by friends in the USA. This said, I sometimes also use it to cross post my Google+ stuff to Twitter and Linkedin for certain fields where I have a presence in some niche area like IP Communications. It can do Pinterest, too, but I don't much there. Another good use is keeping posts current in my Music collection, for example. Rather than posting three things at once, I can space them out. I want to mention also the service is impressive and any bug I have found due to a Google change, for example, has been promptly fixed. Google+ Activity Log Google+ now features a list of all your actions including posts, comments, +1s, votes, blocks, and much more. You can access your Activity Log on Android, iOS, and the Web from the Settings menu. Filter the list to find recent comments or other actions you've made (I personally find this very useful when I want to re-find conversations I've participated in) or easily remove any action you've taken on Google+ using the X on each list item. Don't worry, you'll be asked to confirm before we actually delete anything. As usual, you can tell us what you think about this new feature using the Send Feedback menu item. Thanks~
